Jewish Healthcare Foundation to Provide a $600k Grant Develop a Women's Health Research & Policy Center

The Jewish Healthcare Foundation announced today that it will provide a $600,000 grant to develop a Women's Health Research & Policy Center at RAND, in partnership with the Magee-Womens Research Institute. This grant is a part of the WHAMglobal initiative at JHF.

WHAMglobal's current policy priorities focus on reducing the rate of maternal mortality, which is significantly higher in the United States than other developed countries. The Women's Health Research & Policy Center will focus specifically on translating research into best practices for the cardiovascular health care of pregnant women.

Karen Feinstein, the president and CEO of JHF said "They are compelling issues we couldn't ignore. We look at both of them together because it's all about a successful pregnancy and putting into place the necessary foundations for a successful pregnancy."

WHAMglobal is also hosting a daylong symposium on maternal health on October 8th, one day before the Magee-Women's Research Summit. More information can be found here: https://www.whamglobal.org/symposium
