When: Wednesday, April 24, 2019, 08:30am - 04:00pm
PA PQC teams from health plans, birth facilities, birth centers, NICUs, community-based organizations, and outpatient providers that provide prenatal, postpartum, or newborn services are invited to join the PA PQC by completing this form for provider organizations and this form for health plans. These teams that join the PA PQC can then register for the PA PQC’s Learning Collaboratives. Stakeholders from the PA PQC Advisory Group who are not providers or health plans may also register.
This registration is for the first Learning Collaborative session for the PA PQC. During this kick-off session, the participating PA PQC teams will learn about the aims of the PA PQC and the quality improvement framework and methods. The teams will then prioritize how to focus and plan for their quality improvement projects to reduce maternal mortality and improve care for pregnant and postpartum women with opioid use disorders (OUD) and opioid-exposed newborns. To inform this work, there will be breakouts on key interventions, such as substance use disorder (SUD) screening and education, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) screening, non-pharmacologic treatment protocols for opioid-exposed newborns, recognizing and responding to disparities, and protocols for hemorrhage and severe hypertension. After the breakouts, participating teams will have time to huddle to update and report out on their next steps to drive quality improvement and patient safety within their organizations. Continuing education credits will be provided.
